Take socially conscious and politically charged lyrics, mix in surreal comic relief, surround it with great beats and samples, add a great logo and you get a lethal combo that remains unrivaled. One of the greatest hip hop groups of all time, Public Enemy, and their 1989 single, Fight The Power. It was the perfect anthem for Spike Lee's unforgettable film about racism and stereotypes- Do The Right Thing.

If we had to limit a recommendation to only one P.E. album for a new listener, it'd be It Takes A Nation of Millions To Hold Us Back without a moment hesitation. And congrats to Public Enemy on their recent induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
