Aaron Draplin's Favorite Signs

Because the sole proprietor of the DDC is an amazing and inspirational guy...dig this short on one of our favorite graphic designers (or 'cake decorators', depending upon your point of view), Aaron Draplin, who leads us through a tour of his favorite signage in Portland, Oregon.

BTW, if you're an active or aspiring creative person, get out and see this guy lecture. You won't be disappointed, we promise.

Red Bull Racing RB9 Gets New Graphics

Here's a classic example of why drivers should stick to driving...

Watch this fun little promo from F1 World Champions, Red Bull Racing, as Vettel and Webber go head to head in a friendly competition to decorate an RB9. Obviously, this was shot months before the "Multi 21" Malaysian GP incident that has caused a competitive rift between the two.

We're proud to say, with confidence, that we could easily best both of these guys if assigned the same task....;)

We're definitely fans of the label and their talented Creative Director, Carby Tuckwell.

These are the very same illustrations that beckoned us from the walls of the local hobby shop as youngsters, igniting a passion for racing radio controlled models that still exists to this day. Thanks to our friend, Doug D for sending over the link. Yeah-yuh!

One of the most beautiful opening title sequences in cinema, designed by Saul Bass for the film Grand Prix (1966). We're hoping that the upcoming Ron Howard film, Rush, which is based upon the 1976 Formula 1 rivalry of James Hunt and Niki Lauda, will take a cue from this opener.
