Deus, the phenomenal, Australian-born moto/surf brand, just celebrated a one year anniversary of their only US retail shop. Located in Venice, California, the retail outlet features a hearty selection art, apparel, motorbikes, surfboards, coffee and hosts plenty of fun events. We're definitely fans of the label and their talented Creative Director, Carby Tuckwell.

Since we're on the subject of two wheeled machines, we thought it'd be fun to share another short by Greg Roman (Failed Athlete). Shot on location in the UK in 2009, this piece for Vans features super 8mm moto footage of Ryan Villopoto. 

Gotta love that raw and grainy 8mm stock.

Like with all forms of motorsport, what is happening in real time is happening too fast for the naked eye to see. Witnessing the nearly-arrested motion of super slow-mo is always fascinating. Thankfully, the mega-budget, corporate cash of Red Bull realize this too and have released the above short, featuring James Stewart. He provides good voiceover notations on the subtleties of navigating his two wheels through the loam.
